Stock Highlight: AMD
AMD priced $4.75 billion of notes last week, its largest bond sale ever and triple the $1.5 billion it raised in March 2025. The notes settle today. The stock rose 6.5 percent Friday to $514.39.
A company borrowing money is not automatically a company in trouble.
Think of a landlord who could pay cash for a building and takes the mortgage anyway. The rent covers the payment, and the cash stays free for the next building.
AMD ended Q2 with $13.1 billion in cash against $3.2 billion of debt. This raise lifts debt to roughly $8 billion, still under the cash. Data center revenue grew 107 percent.
The bear case is not the balance sheet. It is the price. At $514, the stock already assumes the buildout goes right.

Bottom Line
The tape is narrow. Chips and memory are carrying the index while the Dow sits red.
AMD borrowing to build is the cleanest example of what this market rewards right now, and of the risk attached to it. Debt-funded capex works until demand blinks.
If you are drawing income within five years, the move today is not chasing memory names. It is checking how much of your equity sleeve already sits in this one theme.

Now he says he’s seeing similar fingerprints in another company: billions in operating income, rapid growth, a low valuation and a powerful AI-energy catalyst.
