Wild week, strong finish.

The S&P 500 closed Friday at 7,489.72, up roughly 1 percent on the week. The Dow finished at 52,485.03, also up about 1 percent. The Nasdaq Composite added 1.6 percent to close at 25,373.85.

Under those gentle weekly numbers sat one of the more violent five-session stretches of the year, driven by the Fed decision, four Magnificent Seven prints, and a global chip rally that tripped trading halts in Seoul.

The Story Beneath The Numbers

Big Tech carried the tape.

Microsoft rallied 15.51 percent Thursday on strong Azure numbers, adding roughly $450 billion in market value in one session. That is the largest single-day dollar gain in stock market history.

Amazon jumped 15 percent Friday after cloud revenue accelerated for a fifth straight quarter. Meta and Alphabet also topped estimates midweek.

Apple was the lone loser of the group, falling 7 percent Friday on soft Services revenue and weak China sales. The four hyperscalers now guide combined 2026 AI capex at $720 to $745 billion, and the market read that as bullish rather than bloated.

Billionaire Trader Warns: Get Out of Stocks

After starting out 50 years ago in a 2-bedroom apartment...

Today, Billionaire trader Ray Dalio has made more money for his clients than any hedge fund manager in history.

And he's done this by predicting – and reacting to – the "big picture" of the markets... in a way that even the smartest people in the world are unable to replicate.

Now, along with multiple Wall Street banks, Dalio is warning of a historic crisis for stocks that could keep your portfolio in the red ...

Bottom Line

A record from Microsoft, a $5 trillion moment from Apple that did not hold, a Kospi halt on the way up, and a 10-year yield at multi-year highs.

That is a market showing you both extraordinary strength and extraordinary stress in the same week.

The takeaway is not to celebrate or panic. It is to notice that leadership has narrowed again.

Best
