Last year, President Trump told Washington to rethink a retirement system that had long favored the wealthy.
Then, in March 2026, the Department of Labor proposed a rule it described as an initial step toward broadening access to alternative investments in 401(k) plans while protecting retirement assets.
That proposal is not final. And it does not mean your employer's plan offers these assets today.
That is exactly why I believe waiting could be a mistake.
For decades, wealthy families and institutions had access to investment assets most Americans could not easily reach. They used that broader menu to pursue income, growth and tax advantages inside long-term portfolios.
Now Washington is openly debating how more retirement savers could gain similar exposure.
But policy can move slowly. The AI infrastructure buildout is already underway.
My research points to one little-known opportunity that is already publicly traded. It sits at the center of the AI infrastructure buildout, is structured to distribute 90% of its profits to shareholders, and can reportedly be accessed for around $15 through a regular brokerage account.
President Trump has reportedly placed up to $25 million of his own money there.
My concern is that retirement savers will assume someone else will add the right option to their plan, then study the story only after a major headline forces the issue.
