Hey, it’s Greg...
Last week was rough.
The market sold off. And some of the biggest names out there... stocks everyone knows... are sitting well below their highs.
If you’ve been checking your account and wincing, I get it.
But I want to tell you what I really think.
I believe we have never been in a better environment for building wealth with stocks. Not in my lifetime.
That might sound strange... because some of the biggest firms on Wall Street are now warning that the overall market could go nowhere for years.
I don’t think those two things conflict at all.
Here’s why...
Think about what it took to invest well 20 years ago.
If you wanted serious research, you needed a big firm behind you. Real-time data cost thousands a month.
Earnings call transcripts, institutional ownership, analyst models... that stuff lived behind closed doors.
The pros had the tools. Everyone else bought an index fund and hoped.
That’s over.
Today you can pull up a company’s filings in seconds.
You can ask an AI to break down a 100-page annual report while you drink your coffee.
You can screen thousands of stocks from your phone on the train.
Tools that hedge funds paid millions for are now free... or close to it.
The playing field has leveled.
And that matters more than ever right now.
Because if the market as a whole stalls, simply buying and waiting won’t get you there.
The money will be made by the investors who know where to look... and when to move.
BUT.. here’s the part nobody likes to talk about...
All this opportunity comes with volatility.
New technology moves fast. Money floods into a theme, then rushes out. Stocks get bid up, then knocked down hard. That’s exactly what we saw last week.
It’s not a sign the opportunity is gone. It’s the price of admission.
The question is whether you can stay in the game long enough to collect.
That’s where capital allocation comes in.
Most people who get wiped out don’t pick bad stocks. They bet too big on one idea... at the wrong time... and get shaken out right before the move happens.
The investors who win size their positions so no single drop can knock them out. They keep cash ready for days like last week. And they have a plan for when to get in... and when to get out.
You don’t need a huge account to do this.
Small amounts, put to work strategically, can grow into something meaningful. That’s the whole point of having better tools.
If you want to see how to adapt your approach for the years ahead, I’d take a look at this
Don’t stare at the red. Look at the opportunity.
Fear is what the crowd feels. Opportunity is what the prepared investor sees.
Be the prepared investor.
Talk soon,
Greg
