The Memory Chip Trade Just Broke. NVDA Tomorrow.
Pre-market futures are red again. S&P -0.4%, Nasdaq 100 -0.6%, Dow -77. The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index is down 6% in two days. Seagate's CEO warned new factories "take too long" to build... shares dropped 7% yesterday, then another 3% this morning. Micron is off 6% in sympathy.
This is what the math finally catching the narrative looks like. Micron is still up 138% on the year. The trade isn't dead. But the marginal buyer just blinked.
Home Depot reported moments ago. Adjusted EPS $3.43 beat $3.41. Revenue $41.77B beat. But the CFO said his customers are engaged "up to a certain point" and deferring larger projects. The beat is the headline. The language is the story.
Oil pulled back overnight after Trump called off a planned strike on Iran. WTI -0.4% to $103.81. The reprieve buys time, not peace.
Tomorrow: NVDA. Everything hinges on it.
