A note on this Memorial Day
The office is quiet. The market is closed. And like a lot of you, I am spending some time thinking about the men and women who never came home.
Every freedom we have... including the freedom to build a portfolio for our families... was paid for by them.
So today I will be brief.
For fifty years, the entire American economy has rested on one quiet arrangement.
Saudi Arabia sold its oil in U.S. dollars. The Saudis kept their wealth in U.S. Treasuries. The American military stood behind them.
That arrangement was called the Petrodollar Accord. It is the reason your savings are worth what they are worth.
It almost died in 2022.
What I have just learned, is that Trump's first foreign trip of this term was not a coincidence.
A new deal has been struck. A trillion dollars are at stake.
A handful of American companies are quietly positioned to benefit in ways the public is not yet aware of.
The full briefing is below, and the window is short.
Spend the rest with the people you love.
Talk soon,
Greg
